To Dye or Not to Dye

As a rug hooker since 1989 I can tell you good wool has not always been easy to find. The mills I am working with now have surpassed my expectations.

Our 100% wool is 58" to 60" wide and mill-dyed for you to give your rugs that warm hand-dyed look….right off the bolt. The quality of the wool is exceptional, with beautiful plaids, checks and textures. If you prefer to stay out of the dye pot our wool is for you.

If you feel the need to over-dye your own color palate we also have the lights you are searching for. We are offering Wool Studio Natural which over-dyes like a dream, and fine rug hookers tell me can be cut on a #3. We also carry an ever changing line of light plaids and textures that take the dye beautifully.

The Wool Studio started out catering to the primitive rug hooker with woolens that were best cut on a #7 or #8. With the addition of the latest mill I am happy to say our woolens are now used by “fine” hookers as well.

Service

The Wool Studio prides itself on outstanding customer service. If you order between our quarterly mailings your order usually goes out the very next day. Because we send out 700+ mailings each quarter, it does take us a little longer to process the hundreds of orders that follow a swatch mailing. These orders are shipped in the order in which they were received. If you have a “wool emergency”, i.e. rug camp, vending, etc. we will do our very best to accommodate your request.
